A while back I wasn’t happy with any of the headbands I use to keep my hair out of my face when working out. Since I was (and still am) so in love with the bamboo fabric used to make our eco-conscious teething necklaces, I used some of the fabric to make a knot headband for myself. I have a bagillion of those thick wrap knot headbands but they’re way too hot for me in the summer and always make my hair sweaty. yeah, gross. So I’ve been wearing this knot headband for at least a year now and the other day while putting my hair into an updo for the day and adding the headband just because I love the tiny bow so much, it dawned on me that I should add these things to the shop! …earth to rachel, the rest of the world might like these things as much as you do!
So a couple days ago I whipped up a whole slew of these babies and added them to the shop. I also came up with the idea of carrying our eco-initiatives into the packaging by using upcycled cardboard boxes! Finally since I was drinking coffee like gatorade that day, I made some little hair ties to go with the headbands since I’ve started wearing my hair up when I sleep to protect against split-ends and wanted something that would be uber-gentle on my hair.
The headbands are extra stretchy and expand two inches wide so you can tuck your hair and bangs back for those extra-intense barre, yoga, and pilates classes. I’ve even put them through the test of holding my bangs and long hair back during distance runs. So although I may be sweaty and gross, at least my hair is looking dang good!
