I’ve always had an eye for mid-century home decor but never made a strong initiative to fully embrace it in my own home. For some reason it always seemed impractical in reality. Well folks, practicality is going by the wayside in this household because I’m elbows deep now!
Enter… the blue chair in all it’s glory.
Ta-daaaa! I love it. Sometimes while I’m waiting for the coffee to finish brewing, I’ll just sit in it like I’m plotting an evil scheme. But really, I’m not. I’m likely plotting how I’ll get the dog to eat his breakfast (he’s a picky eater. it’s a never-ending battle).
The best part about this chair is that it rounds out our living room, so the space is much more conversational when we have guests. And it’s my new favorite reading spot. Morning coffee and a quick read through my feedly/Bloglovin’ while sitting in a super rad chair next to a cracked window? Yes, pahleez and good morning!
I’ve been searching every local thrift shop I pass and watching my local craigslist like a hawk for several months (I kid you not. I’ve been on the hunt since at least January). I knew exactly what I wanted – I was looking for a mustard yellow chair with mid-century wooden legs and gold ends, but then this blue beauty popped up in my search and it was game over.
I’ve decided that this chair was destined to join our household because it’s such an eerily perfect match to the lamp and throw pillows I bought several years ago.
