Welcome to the land of chaos, where everything is done on the fly and all my ideas are the best ideas all the way until they turn out to be the worst ideas.
…that’s been my motto for three years but as of 2017, life in our household will never be the same. I’ve committed to pursuing my graphic design business full-time, while simultaneously flipping a retro 1964 house, taking on a larger editorial calendar on my blog, and -oh yeah- while also pregnant with our first baby (due June 2, 2017). *whew*
This is sure to remain a land of chaos but now I’m making a point of living with intent rather than doing things on the fly. This is all in the pursuit of strategically building The Bramble Lab into the dream job.
So what is The Bramble Lab?
I’ve been a lifestyle blogger since early 2010 and recently (in January 2017) committed full-time to my freelance graphic design work. With this decision, came the realization that my lifestyle blog and freelance work ought to be united as one brand: The Bramble Lab. Why The Lab? Because this brand is truly a laboratory of sorts; this is a space that’s ever-growing, ever-evolving, and something I’m constantly learning from.
Awesome. But who are you?
I’m a graphic designer, picture-taker, barre3 junkie, coffee snob, nature hippie, and big city lover. I’m inspired by life’s simple and beautiful moments, family, traveling, good food, and photography done well. My husband and I live in Iowa City, Iowa and although we often daydream of living somewhere more exotic, we focus on the here and now which leads us to realize how much we truly love this city. We’ve previously lived in Fayetteville, Arkansas; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Hopkins, Minnesota. I haven’t always been a city gal though! My two sisters and I grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm where we did crazy things like train horses, zoom around on ATVs to herd cattle, go outside before school in the morning and after school at night to do chores, and help with harvest by shuttling tractors around the farm!
I’m Rachel and this blog is a rambling of life with my husband Brandon, cat Lila, dog Koda, and our sweet baby (due June 2nd!).
