Confession: it’s been quiet around here. Too quiet. It’s 100% my fault too because wouldn’t you know, after writing about the seasons of life and how I had this feeling like things would be changing soon, they took off and started changing immediately. Like within that very week, immediately. There are lots of new things going on around the R&B household and I want to share all of the details with you soon – but first I need to gather my thoughts, gather my photos (oh lordie, the photos. I have so much organizing to do!), and gather more than 20 minutes of time to do justice to all the exciting things that’re coming with this change in seasons.
So for now, here’s a peek at a few things that have been keeping me busy!
▲ Brandon’s mom and brother were in town for Easter and Brandon surprised me with some fresh-cut spring flowers for our Easter dinner centerpiece. Freshly cut flowers have been my favorite spring decorating weapon this year!
▲ Here we are chilling with Mr. Mark Twain at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium. If you’re ever in Dubuque, Iowa this place is a must! It also happens to serve as a halfway point between us and my parents – these are the kinds of things we weren’t able to do in Arkansas and I’m so thankful that we’re able to spend more time with family now!
▲ We have a small obsession with donuts. I made THESE baked donuts for Brandon’s birthday and they were pretty darn tasty! Not as good as a sour cream-loaded and fried old fashioned donut, but definitely a good alternative for those days when you don’t want to leave home and you feel like being just a little bit nicer to your body.
▲ Speaking of, we celebrated Brandon’s 30th in April! This man makes me laugh so much! This was one of those special date nights that you just don’t want to end – I can’t believe that I get to be the girl who’s wandering through this life adventure with him.
▲ Chicago! I tagged along with Brandon on a business trip to explore a city I haven’t been to since I was a kid. These buildings are just too beautiful.
More pictures of Chicago and all the exciting news soon!
